We are delighted to confirm that no less than four projects Dawnvale has been involved with have been shortlisted for the upcoming Northern Design Awards!
The Awards, which are held annually, bring together the very best of the North of England’s designers, architects, retailers and property developers across a host of both commercial and residential categories. Four out of the five projects we put forward have been shortlisted in the commercial track of the awards.
The Northern Design Awards recognise excellence in design in this part of the country and are judged by some of the best in the business, making it a real honour to be in the running.

Our finalists in the Restaurant & Bar Design category thanks to our work with RUMBA Congleton and Bert’s Pizzeria Hull, for an Amazing Space award thanks to our Mackie Mayor project and in the Interior Design Project category for TGI Fridays, White Rose.
RUMBA, Congleton (Restaurant Bar & Design Finalist)
A Tiki dream, parrots and flamingos happily share space with Mexican sugar skulls, sharks on the ceiling and caravans in the corner at RUMBA in Congleton. If you love island living and dream of escaping somewhere tropical, you’ll instantly be transported the moment you set foot in this most eclectic and vibrant of venues.

Bert’s Pizzeria Hull (Restaurant Bar & Design Finalist)
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian gelato, in sophisticated surrounds that put you in mind of stylish Milan, head down to Bert’s Pizzeria in Hull – our second project to be short listed in the Restaurant and Bar Design category. It might be a world away from Tuscany, Rome and Torino, but with a typically Italian chic fit out, a real gelato counter, bespoke bar and the best dough this side of Naples, Bert’s Pizzeria brings contemporary Italian aesthetics (and tastes) to the Humber.

Mackie Mayor (Amazing Space Finalist)
There’s a food and drink revolution happening in Manchester’s Northern Quarter – and nowhere is this more apparent than at Mackie Mayor, a new type of urban culinary destination that transformed a Grade II listed former market building into one of the most exciting dining destinations in the city.
An iconic space that now plays host to 10 trailblazing food and drinks brands, open kitchens and communal dining are set to a backdrop of pared-back colours and textures, distressed subway tiles, pendent lights and stripped back walls.

TGI Fridays (Interior Design Project Finalist)
The original American diner, Dawnvale has a dedicated TGI Fridays department which works with the company on an ongoing basis – while you might think you know a TGI’s interior, there’s actually a whole lot of innovation going on behind the scenes. With industry-leading low energy kitchens developed by Dawnvale over a decade ago, an Innovation Centre and bespoke bars, commercial kitchens, server solutions and design and branding to suit each individual location, this is one brand that continues to innovate.
