Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, focusing on fitout projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying within the fitout sector, demonstrating expertise in cost management, contract administration, and financial control. The QS will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Cost Management and Estimation:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for fitout projects.
- Manage project budgets and perform cost analysis.
- Monitor and control project expenditures.
- Contract Administration:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Administer change orders and variations.
- Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and issue tender documents and evaluate responses.
- Negotiate and manage procurement contracts.
- Project Financial Control:
- Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting.
- Manage cash flow and progress payments.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess project risks.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain risk registers and report on potential impacts.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
- Attend site meetings and provide financial updates.
- Prepare and present reports to stakeholders.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying within the fitout sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is an advantage.
